vision & mission

The Druk Manav Chhoetshog (DMC) is a socio-spiritual and non-profit religious organization registered under Druk Gi Chhoedey Lhentshog, Commission for Religious Organizations of Bhutan, with its headquarters in Thimphu and branches in different dzongkhags. It is guided by the spiritual principles of Sanatan Dharma and the philosophy of Gross National Happiness. DMC motivates and encourages everyone to practically experience the inner life force, which is our true essence, as explained in timeless vedas and taught by early-realized masters such as Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, and Lord Buddha. DMC organize awareness programs for sharing the message of Sadbhawna (Goodwill) and brotherhood through Satsang (religious discourses), seminars on science and spirituality, workshops on good parenting skills, meditation, and social activities.

Druk Manav Chhoetshog envisions a harmonious, contented, peaceful, and happy society through spiritual awakening.


Mission

To enhance spiritual advancement through the practice of dharma, promotion of peaceful co- existence and harmony in society. It shall promote age-old spiritual and traditional practices of our religion to foster and strengthen human values.


Objectives:

 Providing access to the practical teachings of the essence of four Vedas of Hinduism to all aspirants in Bhutan.

 Share the message of Sadbhawna (Goodwill) and brotherhood through Satsang (religious discourses), seminars on science and spirituality, workshops on good parenting skills, meditation and social activities.

 Address the existing caste-based discrimination and untouchability which are the root causes for proselytization, disharmony, and misunderstandings in our society; which in turn have become barriers in achieving our national philosophy of ‘Gross National Happiness’.

 Preservation and promotion of religious, social, cultural and spiritual heritage in keeping with the changing times and needs of the present-day Bhutanese society.

 Take up the social responsibilities in wholesome development of youth and children by inculcating in them good habits through value education so that they become responsible citizens.

 Active participation in national events and important Hindu festivals, volunteer during natural calamities, engage youth to carry out social activities such as mass cleaning campaigns, blood donation, tree plantation, etc.

 Promote spirituality and encourage everyone to experience the practical knowledge of the self through initiations to spiritual insight (Aatma Gyan) and regular meditation.

 Promote Ahimsa (non-violence) through vegetarian discipline and refraining from abusing intoxicating substances.

 Establish linkages between Hinduism and Buddhism through research, meetings, workshops and seminars so that there is a better understanding of these two religions among the religious personalities and devotees.

 Explain the signification of the nationally important auspicious days to southern Bhutanese community and encourage them to visit holy sites (lhakhangs, neys, mandirs), offer better lamps, and carry out other virtuous actions during such auspicious days.
